Write for us
Silver Policy Journal welcomes considered pitches that help general readers understand how public policy is framed, chosen, carried out, or assessed. A strong contribution explains one clear idea without asking readers to take specialist knowledge on trust.
What we welcome
We consider explainers, comparisons, histories of policy processes, and carefully argued essays about the choices that shape public programmes. Useful subjects include the difference between policy tools, the purpose of an evaluation plan, or the questions a reader can ask when a proposal defines a problem.
What makes a good pitch
Tell us the central question, why it matters to a general reader, and the main points the piece would cover. Include a brief indication of the sources or public documents you expect to use, flag any relevant perspective that could affect your approach, and explain what makes the proposed piece distinct from an overview readers can already find.
How to send it
Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. A pitch is a proposal, not a promise of publication; please wait for a reply before sending a full draft. Do not include confidential material or personal information that is not needed to consider the idea.
Look closely at the choices behind policy
A policy is more than an announcement. Its definitions, tools, delivery, and review all shape what it can do.
