Editorial policy
Silver Policy Journal aims to explain public policy accurately and fairly. We make our reasoning legible, distinguish description from judgement, and treat corrections as part of responsible publishing.
Accuracy and context
We check factual statements against suitable source material before publication and take care not to make a general explanation sound like advice for a specific case. We distinguish what a proposal says, what its supporters intend, and what can be established about its implementation or results. Where evidence or interpretation is uncertain, we say so.
Independence
Editorial choices are guided by relevance to the Journal's subject and usefulness to readers. A partnership does not buy editorial conclusions or favourable coverage. We aim to represent policy arguments fairly without presenting every claim as equally supported.
Corrections
Readers can report a possible error through the Contact page. We review the point, check the relevant material, and correct confirmed mistakes clearly. Where a change affects the meaning of an article, we make that change apparent rather than quietly leaving a misleading impression.
Partners and illustrations
Paid, sponsored, or partner material is identified as such so readers can tell it apart from independent editorial work. Illustrations may be AI-generated; when an image is illustrative rather than documentary, it should not be read as evidence of a real policy event.
Look closely at the choices behind policy
A policy is more than an announcement. Its definitions, tools, delivery, and review all shape what it can do.
